VIII ISIN Conference - Internation Society for Inmunonutrition

The organisation of the VIII International Society for Inmunonutrition Conference marks a new era of the i-FINER group (International Forum on Immunonutrition for Education and Research). Created in 2007, i-FINER was founded through the collaboration of nutrition and immunology worldwide professionals: Philip Calder (UK), Mireille Dardenne (FR), Laurence Harbige (UK), Ascensión Marcos (SP), Gabriela Perdigón (AR), Wilson Savino (BR), Nora Slobodianik (AR), Liseti Solano (VZ), Roxana Valdés (MX). It was in 2014 and during the VII International Immunonutrition Workshop which took place in Brindisi (IT) and organized by Emilio Jirillo and Mauro Serafini, that the International Society for Immunonutrition (ISIN) was founded.

The conference will provide an outstanding scientific discussion, with speakers from various countries. Among the main topics, micronutrients and immunonutrition, probiotics and immune response, obesity and immune dysfunction as well as the impact of nutrition on infectious diseases, will certainly be of a great interest for the whole communities of students, researchers, clinicians, and other professionals working in the health sector in general, and more particularly in the areas of immunology and nutrition.

Also important is the fact on November 16th, there will be a whole day course dealing with basic aspects of immunology and nutrition.

The reason for choosing Rio de Janeiro in Brazil for the venue of the VIII International Society for Immunonutrition Conference is due to the role Latin American countries have had in the i-FINER group and because 2015 will be the 115th anniversary of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, with many activities taking place throughout the year. This is a very especial occasion to include our conference with in their activity agenda.
